Dry fruit / nut import solutions
Requirements for import of dried fruits / nuts into China:
Imported dried nuts include dried fruits and nuts, such as dried jujube, dried mango, dried persimmon, melon seeds, chestnut, pistachios, etc.
According to the current management regulations in China, not all dried nuts can enter China. The import of dried nut products shall not be allowed until the General Administration of Customs has carried out a risk assessment.
At present, the countries that are allowed to export to China include Australia, North Korea, South Korea, Japan, Italy and other five countries. Other countries and regions are not allowed to export to China for the time being.
Note: the dried fruits and nuts we mentioned at present mainly refer to direct edible or imported raw materials, excluding seeds.
Requirements for import dried fruit / import general trade declaration data:
1. Import documents of common products (bill of lading, packing list, invoice, etc.)
2. Foreign certificate of origin
3. Health certificate (also known as free sale certificate)
4. Translation of foreign language labels
5. Record no. of domestic / foreign Consignee / shipper
6. Plant inspection certificate (raw and unprocessed)
Note: since 2022, the customs needs to register foreign food production enterprises for imported food. Raw and dried nuts generally fall within category 18 and need to be registered and recommended by foreign officials.
General trade declaration process of imported dried fruits / nuts:
1: Review of domestic import materials and preparation of customs declaration materials
2: The goods arrive at the port to exchange the documents, and the commodity inspection issue the customs clearance form
3: Handle customs declaration and issue customs duties
4: Customs / commodity inspection arrangement
5: Pick up and deliver to the designated location
6: Issuance of customs inspection and quarantine certificate
Problems often encountered in the import of dried fruits / nuts:
(1) If the certificate is found to be false, the contents of the certificate are inconsistent with the provisions, and the attached documents are incorrect and inconsistent with the actual situation, it can be determined as unqualified.
(2) In case of any of the following conditions in on-site inspection and sensory inspection, it can be determined as unqualified.
The goods inspected on site are inconsistent with the inspection documents; Abnormal color, taste and smell; Foreign matters; Mildew phenomenon; Moisture and caking; Contaminated by other substances; Containers and packages are seriously damaged.
(3) There is no production date (batch number) / shelf life (limited date) or the shelf life has expired in the label inspection; The marked content is inconsistent with the requirements of the bilateral agreement; If there is false information in the standard content, it can be judged as unqualified.
(4) If the laboratory test results exceed the relevant standards of China, it can be determined as unqualified.
(5) Upon inspection, it is found that there are objects prohibited from entering the country.
(6) Failing to pass the quarantine inspection.
Among the above unqualified items, different treatment shall be made according to the unqualified conditions. It includes that the entry is allowed after the secondary inspection; Those that are still unqualified or not allowed to be sorted or cannot be sorted shall be returned or destroyed.
